How do I get X up and running with my old Cirrus Logic GD5428 card?
Please help me, I'm a newbie.
I have attached my XFree86 logfile, hope it helps. Is it just because
I'm suppling wrong settings (how much RAM does it have, and what
settings does that old card support)?

if you're using RH 8.0, it's called redhat-config-xfree86 these
days, as are many of the config tools:

Anyone know yet if the new updates have the same issues? Or will we

Hi!
I have a couple of questions:
- Any plans to release a gnome2 update for RH8?
- Why is Red Hat not present on this page: http://www.gnome.org/start/2.0/
- What version of gnome2 is actually in RH8? I know Red Hat has added some patches
themselves.
Cheers

I'm
using RH8 with an updated kernel 2.4.19. The RH8 kernel had some issues with
pptp
and mppe. After getting the new kernel installed it fired up no problem.
pppd
2.4.1.pppoe2
pptpd-1.1.3
kernel-2.4.19
linux-2.4.19-openssl-0.9.6b-mppe.patch
that's
all you should need.

You're messing several concepts. You must create a user called postgres,
with which you will be able, after su'ing, to use psql and most of the
front-ends to postgreSQL.
You should read some basics about using postgreSQL for newbies.

Either on the ftp site, or just run up2date and deselect kernel as an
exception. Read up on installing a new kernel (process) prior to
proceeding. It's all in the documentation.

Hye,
we are using RH AdvSrv 2.1 as a HA cluster for filesharing (samba, nfs)
on Dell 1650 (2x1133MHz, 2 GB RAM for each server). We share a 400GB
diskunit as filespace.
We detected a high cpu-usage in addition with low performance on the
clients while accessing the fileshares.
