i dont understand all of this since i installed both 4.1 and 5.0 through ftp
using ftp.dredhat.com
'unfortunately' i have a dedicated line at home ... so it was really really
fast
it took about 30 minutes for a full 395 meg install
and for the record it works fine you just have to point to
the hardware will be the fifo buffers on winmodems and both fifo and data
pumps on hsp ( host signal processing ) modems such as zoltrix winhsp and
any other pc-tel chip based ones ...
A single unique choice you cant go wrong with is a usr sportster fax
external (33.6)
i heard of various stori
etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
is the file containing your ip adress ...
the hosts file is just how to look a name up ... not a configuration thang'
do more on the file above and you will see that darn ip that wont goaway ...

i have the same thing ...
apparently traceroute doesnt read properly the kernel routing tables ..
therefore ..
if i am assuming you have a local network ( probably a private one and it
is one subnet ... no routing involved )
and lets say it is eth0
then put an alias in
