Lorne (and all) —
Great news! I think we just had a breakthrough with the AudioScience card.
Everything appears to be functioning, except a silly issue where the left
output channel sounds fuzzy and completely overdriven. (I'm in touch quite

Hi tom
One thing you might have to do is log in to rdadmin. It will convert the
database to the new version and back up the old. Running rdadmin after
upgrading an important step.
Many thanks

Nicholas,
While I appreciate that you're trying to get your ASI card to work, but
since you are experiencing difficulty with it you might want to take
another approach. Consider getting Rivendell up and running with
something that's recognized by ALSA (even those cheap $2 USB sound

You make a very good point. I'm natively a Mac/Linux guy (and former IT
tech), but dealing with the drivers for my specific card (no, the Rivendell
install disk didn't work, and never has), plus the headache of getting JACK
to work as expected for processing hasn't been the simple process I was

Hi Nicholas,
You're correct - it has been covered before. The quick answer is no -
there is no complete version of Rivendell which will run under Windows.
There are a few of the apps (rdlogedit, rdlogmanager, rdsoftkeys, and
rmlsend) which have Windows builds. But the core of the system relies

Why ?
Rivendell recognizes that card itself.

Since our rivendell network is not on the air yet I thought I would run
updates. I use a client on the network as a test machine for changes and
ran the updates along with the new Rivendell ver 2.11.0. It ran fine so I
updated all the other clients. Now none of the clients except the test

Thanks! Fred,
This sounds really exciting (and some of the glimpses of "future history"
sound even more exciting!
When can we expect to see this on the software mirrors? I'd like to know
when it will be available so I can schedule the database upgrade to occur
at a time that's convenient for our
So, this question may be pointless, but I feel like I should ask it anyway.
Backstory: I've had a awfully frustrating time getting my ASI 5211 card
working on Linux. That doesn't even begin to cover the installation and
setup of Rivendell... which everyone keeps praising, but so far, haven't
