trannies have an inner bearing race on the pinion gear side. The earlier

The lifters are bleeding down at high rpm's. Mopar sold or sells a set
of lifters that are less susceptible to that problem (high rpm lash
adjusters) Some have suggested that running the 2.4L PT Cruiser lifters
will help at high rpm's. You need some small spacers to space them up
