Hey, first time poster here. but a long time reader. ok i have a 87 Shelby Z daytona with the 2.2l TII 5 spd. everything was just rebuilt about 20,000 km's ago, here is the problems. when im driving the car hard and shift between first and second, around 6700 rpm, the engine starts a bad ticking n

6700 RPM upshifts from first to second gear .OUCH the max ive ever gone on an upshift is 5000 rpm. mebbe you are beating it too hard. its really not a bullet proof V8 muscle car. also the parts to fix the A555 trannys like new gearsets have pretty much dried up. mebbe you should go a little

mebbe under hard acceleration your oil pump pickup is getting uncovered, or at the least sucking in aerated oil. if you dont have a baffled oil pan and possibly a crank scraper your oil will be roping around the crankshaft under hard acceleration, it will also foam up a bit. installing an oil pa
