RE: CS>H2O2 and CS, cloudy?

2002-12-02 Thread Ivan Anderson
Jason and Paula, You don't need to have silver flakes, any elemental particles will be ionised by H2O2. The process generates O2 gas, and it is these very tiny gas bubbles which turn the CS cloudy or turbid. They will dissipate in time, and if you have added enough H2O2, the CS will become a cryst

RE: CS>My CS test results

2002-12-02 Thread Ivan Anderson
Well, it depends upon how much elemental silver is in your CS. just start with a few mL and let it sit over night. End result should be crystal clear, and not too bitter (too much H2O2). Whether the CS is improved by this would be debated by some investigators. Ivan > -Original Message- >

Nancy, No that is not what I am saying at all. I am not giving an opinion as to whether this results in a better CS or not, just describing what happens when one does add H2O2 to CS. All the same, I am glad that you find the addition beneficial. Ivan. > -Original Message- > From: MARIAN

Actually an alloy might be better. Pure silver does not dissolve in water at all, and does not form bonds with anything to make it soluble very easily. However, if you connect silver and copper, you form a crude battery, which will then develop a current, that will then allow the silver to form

Yes, this seems to be the norm. There has been discussion of this before, and I believe that the consensus is that the ionic silver combines with the O in the H2O2 yielding AgO and H2O, I.E. water and silver oxide. Silver oxide is virtually insoluble, so it forms a precipitate that appears milky un
