where [-utils] varies. this will work for debian.
however if flash is locking your sound, something is wrong and its not
closing properly. use tools like lsof to find out whats holding up the show.

dont go past lexmarks from aldi, they are laser and way cheap.
they work quite well in linux (look for a penguin on the side)
i wouldnt (i dont infact) go past ipods for personal audio, however
i use the AAC

I have looked long and hard for a machine that matches the mac mini, in
terms of both features, power and size. You are paying the apple toll
somewhat, but its still a very cheap machine (although you get nothing
but a small box)
its amazing that a very usable computer is $1000 these days, i r
get something as cheap as possible
if you can grab something around the 2ghz mark with around 512 meg of ram.
if you want to run a gui on the machine, maybe a little more ram. disk
space is up to you.
you can just toss an inexpensive SATA controller into the machine then drop
in large disks.
