Can someone explain to me why an application would expect my CD to be
mounted to /var/adm/mount?
CDs belong on /cdrom, mnt/cdrom, mnt/cd0, etc in my book.
When did this stuff start?

I'd say the app wasn't developed for linux then.
The app is Yast under Suse 6.4.
I'm trying to find the kernel
of Redhat.
Depending on how things turn out, I'll probably do a Deb install today,
but on a seperate hard disk that can be swapped in and out.

drinking coke and eating pizza.
Sigh! for the good ole days of the engineers song book (80 pages) and

I think it is time to chuck the chinese after slug and retire to a pub.

I'm trying to make bttv, but the make returns and error message of
no /usr/src/linux/Rules.make.
I'm on a SUSE 6.4 and can not FIND any Rule.* file.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I get around this?

it comes down to locking the case down, but you then run into
problems of common/cheap locks that only have a few key variations,
I usually find a big WOA across the SIMM stops that. (don't know the
long term effect of ink chemicals ectching on the SIMM yet).

I use it heavily at home because it is so reliable. I shudder to think
