Actually, I started out cutting them with a rigging axe, and refined my method by switching over to Stihl! You must be one of those 'sloper' guys I hear so much about. What do you use for wing spars? GlueLams? or do you go straight for the Old Growth Doug Firs with the nice taper? Scob.
