[RCSE] Alpina 4001, are the airbrakes worth the effort?

2001-03-07 Thread cassidyk
I'm shortly to commence building (Assembling?) a Multiplex Alpina 4001, my first 4m ship. I have the uncovered version which has an option for double-blade airbrakes. The aircraft also has crow brkaing avalible via flap/aileron of course. I've only read one flight review of the Alpina, and

RE: [RCSE] 170mph?

The late F1 models did not go 200 mph. Current Q40 models can do 170 mph on a straight line flight. They do not race in a straight line though. The fastest (and well piloted)cover2.5 miles in about one minute. You can do the math. Regis Regis -Original Message-From: Brett Jaffee

I agree with Bill, I have several exchanges that I subscribe to and sometimes I'll see the reply to a very interesting subject without ever seeing the original post. RCSE is not the service that appears to hit by this and it is very frustrating. It has to be info terrorism. --Greg Nuspel

Ok, I have been practicing this stupid trick for a while, and since I have never seen or heard of anyone else doing it, I thought I would brag and show off and make a posting about it here. On a decent wind day here at the blowhole on Maui, I can now consistently land my DAW Me109 by hovering it
