Does anyone know of a site with details of the Breaking strength of various
sizes of Carbon Fiber rods and tubes?
I want to know what size CF rod to substitute for the normal silver-steel
wing joiners.
Thanks

Greetings Bill,
I try to mix elevator to flaps so the model is neutral in all flaps
positions. But it depend on fly speed. When you apply flaps (or butterfly),
the model slows down and will pitch up. Even when you apply flaps slowly the
model will pitch up some. But when the speed stabilizes the m

Strippers work best with thinner wood. One-eigth inch balsa has enough
thickness to provide resistance to the cutting edge and it is likly to
follow the grain.
Make several cuts, dropping the blade a little each time.

I have been sloping with a Zagi, and I had trouble getting used to launching
it. I finally came up with 2 'techniques' that I like. Hold it by the
nose, thumb on top, 3 fingers pushing up - press forward almost like
throwing a dart. I will also put two fingers in the center of the trailing

I would never disagree with Harley about anything, but I have found
that my Microlux table saw is even better than my bandsaw for stripping
wood. It makes a wider kerf, so I guess you could call that a negative,
but in every other respect it is ideal.

After becoming frustrated from attempting to strip
balsa with MABS, I purchased a $50 tabletop circular saw from Harbor Freight. A
rip fence was constructed from a piece of maple and held to the table top with a
couple of C-clamps. My MABS is now used only for stripping 1/16 or thinner wood.

I used to be that way too. Propellers scared me and messy fuel and

Has anyone out there successfully made a mold off of an Omega/Highlight
wing?
I've got an Omega 1.5 that I really enjoy as far as the flying and the
asthetics of the wing. I'd like to be able to make a mold of the curved
ellipical leading edge and use it to create some wings of my own.

Before all of the new fancy gadgets (which most of the times don't work
well) people used straight edges. Try a 48" straight edge, use a fine
pencil, and don't try pushing the blade through on the first pass.

I was planning on flying a couple of events at the
NATS this summer and have a couple of questions.
1) Can anyone with an AMA license just enter
and fly?
2) What frequency requirements are
there? Do you have to be able to fly on more than one? How
many?
Any suggestion or other thi

I get mine at office max and it is called Scotch Exterme Application Packaging tape and the stock number is 8959-RD . It is a bit spendy but it's the best stuff I have found without buying a 100 foot roll. Clarence

Since I first bought a computer radio, I've set up almost all my aileron-elevator

elevator compensation to keep the nose level when the spoilerons were deployed. I
always assumed this was just because of the reduc
