As a matter of fact I just sent two of my Futaba 8U transmitters in for
servicing today. The repair service that Futaba uses works very well. One of
the transmitters I sent in was an 8UA system that some aftermarket user had
modified to put the three position switch on the left. Guys do this all
The question is has anybody modified their radio and switch the switches

Yes this is a standard proceedure, the switches are mounted on their own

The results I got were difficult to obtain. I had to use a poor performance
antenna on the receiver with the added noise of an electric motor &
controller to see any problems.
With this poor installation, the Smiley was unflyable. The Becker did OK but
the range was limited to ~200 feet. Then it'd
I have two Smiley's, a Becker and the factory original antennas.
All four work nicely on my MPX transmitter. Each just screws in. No adapters
are needed. I think George Voss still sells the Smiley's quite reasonably
priced if you're looking for one.
However, don't fall into the trap of thinking t
Well, I already have a smiley short antenna. The
thing is, I don't trust that one when flying my scale ship at aero tow events.
Has anyone had any problems at all with the smiley? From what I have heard, the

I just received an OEM antenna from Hobby

left with no antenna. I heard that the Smiley rubber antenna may work with the

You bet.
Once you have set the value of FLP movement versus the AIL, you need to go to
another menu to the right and set the parent mix value.

I goofed this last weekend and broke my stainless
steel antenna of my Multiplex Profi 3030.
Anybody out there who can sell me one? Does not
have to be the stainless steel one, could be the stock one.
I have tried Ernie. I have tried Hitec, they
directed me to Hobbyhorse who are out of stock.
BTW...Fut, Airtronics, and JR transmitters and receivers running FM (but
not PCM) are all interchangeable on 50 MHz having the same shift... Thanks
again...Brian
