I enjoyed Gordy's post about the money round on Saturday, so I figured
I'd post it from another pilots eyes, my own.
I liked what CSS was doing with winch assignments at this contest, it was
placing the top seeded pilot on winch 1, the second on 2 and so
on... the idea being that the guy in first
The third race was with Joe Wurts, (I
remember last years ISR where Joe Wurts, Tom Copp,
and myself were in the fly offs I think Tom was leading, Joe was running second
and I was running third. I passed Joe coming up and getting very close to Tom,
I had the opportunity to pass Tom at base A
Hey Guys what a great contest!! First of all I want to thank
the NCSS for putting on this event. The help of Mike Seto (CD) and Martin
Falarski (co CD) was outstanding, and well organized to say the least. Also all
of the workers who sacrificed a full weekend to sit out in the dirt blown wi
CSS guys, thank you all for a great job on the contest. Among the best run
contest, I've ever been to. Lots of good guys, and yes... lots of smiles
all weekend.

While the Mongo and the Queen Bee are large foam wings, you can achieve the
same (or better) results with a para foil type wing.
It is much safer and collapses in dangerous crosswinds. It can still have a
frame mount and be designed such that it won't interfere with the wheels
when collapsed.
A couple friends and I have done something similar to what you're looking
for. It was a flying wing we called the Mongo:

Aha - it has come to my attention that the AMA will not accept their
registrations for the team selections until the program is officially
approved. The ballots were due the 20th of May and after they count them
and approve the program they will open official registration. I will send
