Greetings from Aus [that's Australia].
I am trying to get a full house 2m thermal glider that does not cost
the earth.
Something that will launch 'outa' sight and max out every round
[ wassamatter? don't you guys have planes like that over there?]
Seriously though, there seems to be a
David.
You can look at Airsports R.C. for the Starling Pro. Fully molded,
full house, 2m span. Etc etc.

I can make you up some 250 mAh packs. These are 1/2 AAA and will fit just
about any HL. I can sell them to you for $11 each (+ $4.05 ship) with
plugs (min 2 packs). I also have some 350 mAh cells with tabs for $3.20
each. These really nice and are 1/3 AA. Denny Maize at Polecat Aero also
If you can get a line on an Organic, that's a great ship to have Not
cheap, but not 1,000 bucks, either.
I'd also put out feelers for a (used) SuperV or a 2M Mantis, if you can
take the abuse you'll get about how it looks (as you make time after
time)
Good luck,
Brent

I'm fishing for a Fall / Winter building project, and I've got a short
list put together. Any thoughts on the following. If you or a friend
have seen, flown, or built any of these, I'd like to hear your
thoughts.
Skybench's Bird - 100 or more or the 970 (as a nostalgia ship, too)
Polecat's
Don't forget the Paragon, OlyII, Astro Jeff, and the list goes on!

The coolest builtup kit by far is the EZBD from Polecat Aero. Download the
manual - it's impressive! Many on this list can vouch for the plane; it's the
new world of RES.

Thanks Klaus, but it is slope oriented and not enough wing area.
Douglas I have looked at the Mantis 2m and had a giggle, I do like
good looking planes, but I might be convinced.
What sort of wing is it?
Cheers

I thought you might be surprised by its overall look, but I swear,
half the reason it gets made fun of so much is because it just flies so
well. It came on the scene and beat a lot of much more expensive, much
prettier ships. A lot of people out there got beat by some ugly*,
inexpensive planes.
Aw shucks, Tony, you make a man blush ;)
I managed to place 2nd in the MidSouth RES contest with the prototype
plane, too!
Having built an Allegro-Lite from scratch, and then building the EZBD,
I gotta say the compromises Denny took to make it EZ are well worth
the time saved. It's a snap
Is there a way to modify a JR servo to reverse direction. My flying buddy
wants to combine his current 2-flap servo arrangement into a Y harness on
one channel and found that they go opposite directions. Reorienting the
servo will require severe modification to the servo well, linkage and the
You can internally revese the servo or buy a reversing y harness to accomplish
the same task. To reverse the servo you must reverse the motor leads and
reverse the 2 outside wires on the feedback pot- not the wiper. Some
adjustment to the pot position might be in order to get neutral where
I have seen the Marauder fly at an ESL event two years ago. Flew very well.
There is a build thread here:

The top and bottom spoilers are very effective.
I would probably lean toward the EZBD as I loved the plane when I saw Mark

Doug,
How about a Mirage!

There is information for improved strength in the spar and adding a spoiler
/ wing bolt.
One of the finest built up nostalgia glider ever designed...IMHO
My last one came in
David.
I wouldn't have thought that the SD-7084 airfoil is slope oriented.
It is used on a bunch of HLG and DLG gliders, as well as a number of TD
models. When you look at your criteria, there isn't a lot available to you,
and the Starling Pro would certainly be amongst the top of the
Brent
Sorry about the Doug...
Also, Isthmus Models is coming out with a two meter Cara.
Built up with CF tube spar.
Hard launches very wide speed range.
Flew it in the same winds as the Mirage and it spec'd out several times
while moving around the sky like a moldie.
Best 2 meter I have ever
Depending on the size of the servo (and making sure you're not
operating on a digital servo) you may have enough room to perform the
modification outlined in our RC Soaring Digest article. The article
appeared in the August 2003 issue. You can download the entire issue

For nostalgia reasons I am looking for a Kraft, Series Seventy six channel
transmitter. I'm not interested in any other year transmitter. It doesn't
have to be working but I would like it to be in decent shape. I simply want
to put it on the shelf in my workshop. It was the first quality
