Futaba, JR, and Airtronics can sell you a radio that will work well for a full house
rks fine. It just seemed weird that
the EVO is so popular when people have trouble programming it.

I still cannot predict by standing in my backyard whether there will be
good thermals or not. Can you guys?

I have the plane trimmed as per Gordy's instructions, so very little down
was required for inverted flying, but I need more practice to thermal that
way.
Just totally amazing,

I have two Hitec 85 that were too big to fit into the intended plane. They
have never left the workshop, but I cut one servo arm off to see if they
fit the plane's flaps comfortably - they didn't, and hence this sale.
Asking $26 each as they are brand new and unused, and I pay shippi

I just had something like this happen. It turned out to be a broken servo
gear.

and replacing it by two deans plugs won't work either without re-doing all
wiring.
Is there anyone near Springfield IL who would have one of those green
Multiplex 6-point plugs (female) that I could beg/borrow/ steal TOMORROW
until mine arrive?

RG-15 is what my Sierra box says and the wing cross-section looks like it.
Although I haven't flown mine yet, it sure is a nice looking plane for the
money.

I am about at the same point with my Sierra. I have put on the first coat,
EZ poxy glass, wiped off as much as I could. I intend to do one more coat
of glass, then paint the wing bottoms blue, and add one or two layers of
DEFT

And, just a few good experiences indicated that this could be done. I guess
I like doing (some) things that take a lot of skill and preparation to do

Besides, these go for $69.95 at NSP. So, they look like a good deal!

Sierra. I've been told to bring something foamy as well since some slopes
may be hard to land on. So, I will take along my old Zagi just in case.

Denny, nothing personal and nothing XP3 specific here: I've had this with other planes also. My Sharon hit a tree, and I could have sworn that its mass pulled up the branches! The fact that it seems to work for itty-bitty planes as well only strengthens my argument!

We are talking about a high start contest where light planes would do well,
right? So, I daydream a bit about this, and it dawns on me: use the DLG
technique to give the plane a superboost. We' d have to learn how to bend
over enough to swing the plane over our heads.
Just thinking,

Sam Girardi is certainly right about what he is saying. However, I have
found (see, message 103906 ) that the new Volzes are sufficiently strong to
survive the occasional flap-down landing without servo protectors. Steve
Henke (message 103928) found something very similar.

rface proved to be weaker than the gear! (the plywood was nicely glued everywhere). I can hardly believe this, those gears must be really strong. Since I'd heard that Volz gears supposedly never break, I figured that I was about to cause Gordy a lot of grief. But I guess he wins again
Of course, CL afficionados would say the same about HLG: throw it, catch
it, throw it, catch it, , oops pick it up, throw it, ...
Or, perhaps that only shows that I still have a lot to learn when it comes
to flying my new Polecat XP 3.

If I remember well, it came to about $200. So, that's what I'm
asking, or reasonable best offer. Buyer pays shipping.
