Hi All,
I have a (hopefully) unique problem where it appears that a small percentage
of the email coming in are not being assigned a score. In fact, the headers
look messed up.
I've been running SpamAssassin for a 150 user company for some time now with
great results. The system runs on:

I get about 4 seconds per message on a Celeron 600 512MB ram with about

Running with MailScanner and MailWatch on same box.

This command works every time from command line, but not passed as a param

"postfix stop ; sleep 15 ; /etc/init.d/spamassassin restart ; postfix start"
It runs the postfix stop and then quits. Any idea why? I can create a sed

You can specify that value in ANY of the config files that SA parses. So
there's no one specific file it belongs in.
If you want to change the value on a site-wide basis, put it in
/etc/mail/spama
I'll never complain about my old PII-400 taking 8.5 seconds to process a
message through spamd again.

Why does it take your SA 69 seconds to process an email? Our systems
take about 3 seconds, using network tests and bayes with
Postfix/amavisd-new.

Another option is MailScanner - www.mailscanner.info

I`m using spamassassin with bayes filtering. Everthing works very well.
I implementated it 1 month ago. So I activated autolearning for the

But the 2 mailgateways have different priorities, so my databases differ a

Is it possible to synchronize them ?

you probalby don't really want to run it with sendmail but with
procmail. which is the easiest and fastest way.
but if you really want to then i suggest running sendmail with "amavisd
new" (www.amavis.org) which has virus scanning and/or attachment
blocking as well.
have a look at this howto:

To top it off, SA learned it as
