If so, it smells of some well hidden software flaw on the Linux-side...

The congestion bit is switched on in case of network overload, the

J'ai remarqué que dans le message USBDEVFS_BULK failed qui est répété
lors de la déconnection, il est indiqué que le code de retour de

J'ai testé avec 512 mo de ram, et je n'ai eu aucun problème de

This only concerns boxes running linux. I wish to have a large
sampling of the contents of /proc/bus/usb/devices for both
speedtouch 330 and speedtouch USB modems. The reason
is that I would like to

No space between - and m, and between - and f. Also, path should be replaced
with the path to the mgmt.o file.

Hello!
Personnellement, je tourne sous OpenBSD 3.5 avec le modem Speedtouch USB et

Merci a Xavier et a Gilles.

thomson et ca marche.
Maintenant j'ai un autre probleme. Qaund je lance la commande :
# ppp -background adsl

I've got the same problem, whatever upload is limited or not (but very low

Hi !
I think this is the via chipset too... Is there web page where we can
get the list of buggy chipsets ?
I have the modem during w-e only, so I'll try on an other computer. Of
course, the definitive solution is to buy
an ethernet modem, but this is for a school, and they have no money.
Thank

Yep, that MIGHT be a solution, in fact my rc.local does lots of things,
but Debian, for example, calls modem_run when activating hotplug and
then calls pppd when activating network. I mean:
· I turn on the computer
· The kernel is loaded
· Modem starts loading
· blah blah
· GNOME is up and runnin
I core 4 i simply followed the instructions on linux-usb.org for loading
the firmware directly with hotplug. There is no need for modem_run with
kernels after 2.6.9 as the kernel can load the firmware itself.
Just follow the instructions at

Marco,
I run a Slackware 10.0 derivative with kernel 2.4.28. I use a script
called from rc.local during boot. I also use KDE and by the time the
login screen shows up the link has already been stablished. I do not use
GNOME so I have no idea if there is enough time for something similar to

if you want to use the kernel mode driver, that is correct.
