Hey Michael,

This problem is driving me nuts. I wonder if I can start debugging by
writing my own perl scripts to fetch the files that are failing, to see
if I can reproduce the problem.

How do you define a crash? Does the process end?

I'm still puzzled why my LMS auto-updated from 7.9.1 to 7.9.2, but not
to 7.9.3 .
Auto updates happen on released versions, or on nightlies if you decide
to install a nightly build. But not from stable to nightly. 7.9.3 hasn't
been released as "stable" yet, though it's probably more
I'm still having problems with the latest 7.9.3 nightly.
On startup I get the following:

Came here to say thanks and '+1" I've been running LMS and it somehow
auto updated to the 7.9.2 but not 7.9.3 - I've updated and we will see
if it solves my problem. The server started crashing / not starting
reliably just a few days ago.
Edit- after posting I'm pretty sure it's autoupdated to

Yup, same problem here. Server runs on Windows 10, headless, no display
attached. Windows update did a reboot and now the server fails the same
as the original post. My server has been running for ages inc. restarts
to update plugins, so this is either a Windows update breaking
something, or a

Just post title..
LMS 7.9.1
I think following may work - I use to change a post title.
1. go to first post
2. Selected "Edit post"
3. Select "Go Advanced"
4. Change text in title box.
Not sure if this just changes post title or thread title as well.
As Thread Starter, is it possible for me to edit the Thread Title to add
"Port 9000 Unavailable" to it: there are now multiple threads addressing
the same curious phenomenon, seemingly solved by installing 7.9.3. I'm
sure I've done a Tread Title edit before, but now don't see how to do
it.
Both my brother (2000 miles away) and I had the same problem this
morning. It worked for me on a second machine. All Windows 10. Trying
a re-install.

Nightlies means it is built every night but minimal/no change in source
- only essential bugs fixes are put in to 7.9.3 now.
latest 7.9.3 nightly installed, I still see similar errors, but the
server is not crashing on startup, so it's up!

So, clearing prefs etc and updating to 7.9.3 seems to have worked. But,
