Vance,
My German is not too good but it looks like the Big Boy shown is electric,
not live steam, although I did hear that Accucraft was planning a live steam
version. That price was probably for the electric version. I was following
that Ebay auction on the Big Boy kit and couldn't believe the

It probably has some mixture of Mineral Spirits, Xylene, Toluol, or Benzene,

at least partially remove it.

I ran across this web site recently. Looks like lots of good info on
coloring metals on our models.
Thanks Steve, I'll give Norm a call.
Vance, try using suspenders and tightening them in the rear. That might
lift your sagging aft end, but it might also give you a whopping wedgie.
Come to think of it, I could use a lift back there also. (At least that's
what my wife keeps telling me!)

My Aster Mikado is sagging in the rear. Does anyone have a source for the

I purchased a new Micro-Mark 7x12 lathe with lots of accessories about 2

stock. I will probably put it on Ebay soon, but if anyone is interested

Well I guess it's time I took some time for a bio.
My name is Pat Darby, 57 years old, and I live near Covington, LA

of New Orleans and 50 miles from Diamondhead, MS. I have always been

Jim,
This is my understanding of scale:
7/8" scale means 7/8" = 1 foot on the prototype
3/4" scale means 3/4" = 1 foot on the prototype
1/2" scale means 1/2" = 1 foot on the prototype
If 1/2" = 1 foot then divide 12" by 1/2" and you get 24, therefore
1/2" scale is 1:24.

If you need the water pump instructions in a hurry, I can send you the

E-mail me directly if you can handle MS Word documents. If not I can send it
