Not true. I constantly have to deal with mailboxes in Seamonkey that have exceeded the maximum size (similar to the outlook PST size issue). I just create a new folder (usually by date), drag the older messages to it, compact and move on. I don't remember the maximum size, perhaps it is 2GB?
