Hi,
I use an amd chip on my laptop, and intel quad core on my desktop, and I
don't see any difference.
The problem I find is using WE9.1 with specific programs.
I also recommend getting your computer from a store, like Costco, that
will return your money for any reason.
Good luck,
Manny

Hi there Dave!
I have had several AMD systems and I started with W.E.5.5 and now I am
on 9.1 and I have had no problems at all with W.E. I would suggest
giving the AMD a serious try and I think you will like it!
Good Luck! de

Hello,
As I am looking for another System, I thought I would ask the List,
if any here use a computer than has an AMD Chip, and if so, do you
suffer any strange behaviour because of it? How does Window eyes
work with the AMD Chips.
Thanks,
Dave
Hello Rick:
I understand your frustration. It is amazing the number of posts dedicated
to this subject. Yet, I did not see this topic mentioned during any of the
Version 9 beta testing, despite the fact that Dell eliminated this key as
far back as 2012. As a developer, I understand the difficulty
Apparently, Dell has been shipping keyboards for quite a while without the
Num Lock key. The folling is a link to a posting about this issues dating
back to 2012 and lasting for two years. However, there was never a
satisfactory answer for toggling the function.

Sorry, but I couldn't delete the subjectline. Why don't you put the address
to send messags to the list in the messages? Anyway; I have a different
problem. I managed to run malwarebytes, and I managed to find the place
where it has the log, and it also says quarentine. But when I went to lo
Hi,
When you have advance options disabled (when you install Window-eyes fresh) you
only get a small number of features displayed in the Window-eyes control panel.
If you enable advance options you have access to every feature in Window-eyes
from within the control panel.
For example default yo
What is the difference between regular and advanced?

Hi:
So, if there is to be a setting in the Window-eyes control panel to
unlock the numlock, as rick said, this setting would also have to
remap the number keys on the number pad to perform the alternate
numberpad functions, I don't even know if this would be possiblee.

Hi:
Also, for ajnyone who is looking for a tutorial on using Autohotkey,
the documentation and the examples which come wtith the package are
easy enough to follow, at least that's how I learned to use it.

Hi Rick:
Another one that I have tried and liked is Sharpkeys. You do not
need to write code or creat a script to change the function of one or
more keys on your keyboard.
You can learn more about it from:
www.randyrants.com/sharpkeys.

Thanks I will take a look at this.
Note even though windows 8 is not directly spoken of here it should work
because the registry system for the keyboard has not changed.
Thanks again I will check this out.

No actually the num-pad five sends a completely different code then number
5 on the intermedia pad. This is how programs like winamp know if you have
issued a number 5 on the num-pad or not. That being said keyboard codes are
keyboard codes and they don't change from device to device. They do
Also, you could buy a second keyboard with a NumLock key. Many are quite
inexpensive. Even with my notebook, I use an external keyboard whenever I
can. Here's a post on this where someone on a Dell forum wrote about this
concern. One of the responses reads as follows:

Hi Rod:
There are standard codes generated by input devices and required at the
Operating System level.
This means that using quote standard unquote key combinations should be a
safe option for years to come.
I don't know enough to get into the codes nor standards but I know they

Hi David and everyone,
While I certainly appreciate reading this thread, and clearly there is a lot
of energy on this matter of keyboards and their use with screen readers, I
would like to say that there is no need for any serious concern about losing
the functionality of the Numpad and therefore
Hi,
You can't select where the file goes using help/check for updates.
However, from the run dialog, type %temp% and hit enter.
You can find the file there and copy it somewhere else.
It would be something like we91upgrade.exe

Hi,
After pressing f8 to start selection, Window-eyes should say, selection start.
You then navigate without using the shift key to where you want to end
selection.
Press f8 again. A dialog box comes up...Press enter on the copy button.
