using the bulk_import.pl would bipass josm. As since there is no
interferance this is the better alternate. (the main server will be
happier as josm isnt meant for big files) JOSM is fine for CanVec
because im importing bits and things and need to watch for things that
other people mapped.

Hi all,
I'm trying to get a definative answer for all the tags.
So far so good. :-)
it looks like its unanaimous that the 'canvec:description' tags get removed.
So thats cool, its not that hard to remove those tags. :)
Any comments about the other tags, why they should be removed or kept?

Would you know when it will be available in the CanVec data?
Has anyone thought of how we can make use of the geobase address range data?
Does anyone want an .osm file to be made that just has the 4 address
range fields (and the proper source tags) made as i go through with
canvec2osm?

not part of Canvev. I hope Guy will be able to confirm or please you.

Good point.
Each road SHOULD be a relation which is made up of street (address
block numbered sections).
Geobase already does this 1st part well.
What if we start doing this:?
Create a relation route, called 'theNameOfTheRoad' and have it
attributed to each segment. And step 2 would be to remove
not that hard to learn, i just havent got to it yet.

P.S. Perhaps i shouldn't have imported the data for this area (as it's
contrary to what i said before, with just focusing on the 092c area until
it's correct). However, im confident that what i upoaded is fine
polygons at a time.

I'll keep the tag 'natural=rocks' because it is a descriptor. And so
we will know that it isnt a 'sand island' or a sandbar.
I guess i didnt see the 'landuse=forest' through the 'natural=trees' :-)
