Starting from any version of 4.1.x (don't remember which one) we have
the problem that TB hangs on closing the application. Not always, but
quite often. Happens on different machines, with different OSs (XP/SP2
through to Win7)
We can't say, when exactly this started because we did an upgrade
We do have some Clients with 4.2.18, 1 with 4.2.9 and about 6 with 2.x.
Now we want to upgrade all clients to the latest version (4.2.23).
But an ugly problem seems to manifest with this version (or any other

From an uneducated guess... that'd be your problem. It'd appear TB!
is trying to read the old files which may not be there any more. So
when it tries to fetch, it cannot drop the mail into folders it cannot
see/write to. Which might be what is causing the hang.
