TestSerial binary on to micaz connected to stargate
serial port on the daughter card. Then i use wonka to

First is related to 'Serial.h', and second is related to delimiting
and escaping.
Serial.h has been modified (2.0.0->2.0.2->2.HEAD)...

Answering my own question: It looks like msp430 is a 16-bit processor.
This explains why I have problems, but not why the compiler allowed it
and gives such strange results.

I have been measuring RSSI values on Mica2s. There does not seem to be any
significant change in RSSI values when the mote separation changes by 1m.
Noticeable changes seem to happen only once every 5 meters.

The mib520 shows up as two separate serial ports. The lower one is used
to program the mote, the higher one is for communication. You need to
give the latter one to serialforwarder.

I'm porting tinyos to the new msp430F2x1x. I've already compiled the msp-gcc
to support the new microcontroller families but after trying to compile some
applications generated by nesC I found that the symbol $ is added.
After looking a while I've detected that distributed versions of msp-gcc
Check to see that the power switch on the mote and the on/off switch
on the end of the MIB510 are both off.
Second, motelist only works with telosb. Very unfortunate.

Your question is kind of confusing. TinyOS runs in cygwin and cygwin
supports Vista so it works.

There is a limit to how many packets you can send with a mica2 which you are
at or above. You probably want to lower your bandwidth requirements somehow.

Sounds like you are trying to reinvent the TOSBase or BaseStation apps.
I believe they use lower level calls because GenericComm can only have
one active message at a time, using the send() to sendDone() paradigm.
In any case, look at those two existing apps for clues.

1.2.8, the old $ patching of the msp430 tools is technically not
needed anymore. No additional tinyos specific modifications to the
toolchain are necessary either.

I'm pretty sure that doesn't help their range.

The CC2420 has some range, and while 40 feet is good for a
CC2420 on the ground, it isn't a whole lot when you
compare it to other radios. With lower and lower
frequencies, you can transmit much farther. 2.4 GHz gets
eaten by the ground. A CC1000 radio has the potential to
get about 400-600
I'm not sure if this applies to all mica2's, or just some older versions.
I'm also not sure about OEM's. You'll have to screen yours nodes yourself
to see if this applies.
