I'm so glad someone started this conversation. Nobody (doctors) has explained
to me why these symptoms appear except to say that no, I don't have Lupus etc.
I get a fever before the sweating and the only place I sweat is the back of my
head. It just pours and I have to put a towel around my n

Hi all,
Yup Heather is right!
In spinal cord lesions, it is "normal" to not sweat below the level of injury.
Also, your body has a hard time adjusting to temp changes and where the nerve
damage is you can get blotchy skin when it gets too hot...
Take a look at this site, very good info to be fou

my strength has deminished terribly - a gallon of milk fe
Hi, Linda! This is what makes this site such a wonder! I, too, have the
greasy line' around the band but had never attributed it to anything! I
have a real problem with full blown sweating above the T4 level right up to
the top of my head which I had never had problems with before! Plus!
I agree, Linda! That is why I said that I wished some neuro's and providers
would learn from everything we write about and maybe some one person that
comes into their office with similar symptoms then they can wisely help them
instead of just shrugging their shoulders and saying, "Ahhh, right...yo

Thanks for the response. My feet are hot all the time!!! It is hard in the

Hi Linda,
I don't seem to sweat below my lesion at T8 - T10. I think that was mentioned
on the TM Forum at one point and Marieke said that with spinal chord injuries a
person doesn't sweat below the lesion.

Linda,
I don't have the banding all the time. Mostly it is when I am tired, stressed,
or not feeling well. Some times it is just there for no apparent reason but
during those times it seems more tolerable than when I am tired, stressed, or
not feeling well. I am T-4/ T-9 and early on, I didn'
Hi Jeanne,
I also have the band 24 hours a day. Mine is T4-T5 area. That is
where my lesion is in my spinal cord. I also get a lot of tingling on the
left
side of that area. The grease line I was talking was actually a very greasy
to the touch line .
