With those unbiased electrolytic d.c. blocking caps in the L + R output

I got a squeeze box touch since several months. The Squeezebox Server is
installed on a Synology NAS Server.
All was working perfectly. But since a week, I got a behaviour I cannot
solve which makes the system unusable.
The squeezebox touch displays : "an update is available".

That's not a new observation. Actually, it didn't start when Logitech
bought Squeezeb
First you need a good linear power suplly, than carefully arranged
network, well configured SBS and some software tweaks.
One good DAC can bring SBT in another class. At the beginning i was
using Touch with old DPA DX32 Dac, later i have built one DAC around
Gigaworks DAC with Jensen Transformers
Now that I think of it... Since Logitech bought Squeeze there really
hasnt been the rate of development and refinement that you would expect
from a company as advanced as Logitech. I'm a tech geek type of guy so I

What Phil meant is that there is no way for the Squeezebox Server to
know the bitrate of the transcoded file until the transcoding is
complete.
Thus, the "Converted to 705kbps FLAC" information is meaningless, it'
Hi Phil,
Thank you for your reply.
I do not know about "transcoder helpers" or any of that. I use Squeeze
Server from the Mac then to my router then to the Touch. I use the
Analogue out of the Touch. No DAC involved so I have no way of knowing
that end of it. All that I know is what I see and h

With my Duet and SBS on Win7 x64 I found it was really the firewall
inbound rule for TCP that was the problem.

If anyone else has been having trouble with spotty album art showing up
on their Touch display or iPeng or Squeezepad app, I figured out how to
make it work...although it's painful.

Wow good to hear !! Just ordered one. Hopefully it arrives at the end
of the week. After that I either will be selling my DacMagic or the

Hi Phil,
Thank you for your reply.
When I click on the song that is playing in the web interface it tells
me that the Bitrate is being converted. The line reads "Bitrate:
1411kbps CBR (Converted to 705kbps FLAC)". If I set FLAC from FLAC /
Sox to Disabled the message disappears and all of my 1
