interest (to disprove the claims, really), I ordered a power supply
upgrade from Mark Grant (Best of Two Worlds linear power supply

Yeah, I really think you have some other issue at play here. I'm
running two instances of SBS 7.6.1 on two different WinXP computers and
my players *always* connect to whichever SBS I choose.
What you probably saw is the Touch downgrading to 7.5.5, if you ever
switch to MySB again it will prompt

ain't what you'd call minimal...

I continued having problems connecting to Squeezebox server.
It seems that I also kept getting a messages to upgrade Java.
I thought it was just typical annoying computer maintenance issues.
But, yesterday I did upgrade Java and then the Squeezebox server
connected.
Is this a coincidence or is t
"Why does it work?" has answers at two extremes. At one end, the
equipment change resulted in some technical improvement - perhaps lower
interference or noise - that you're now hearing.
At the other end, it could be all in your head.
In the middle, it could be a combination of those factors.

Yeah, you won't have access to Switch Library from within My Music
unless the Touch is currently connected to SBS. That's why I want you
to move it to the Home menu. ;)
My assumption is that you are getting update prompts because your
player is switching between SBS 7.5 and MySB.com 7.6.

before line level out. I am wondering, when the analogue line out is in
use, if it is better to keep the volume on the Touch in the middle
(default, I guess) and control volume via receiver/amplifier or at the

Set up Sb touch for the first time today. My last unit was replaced
under warranty because it wouldn't power up so the fact that I am

Have you installed the server on a computer on your network, or are you
only using MySqueezebox.com?
If you haven't installed the server, do so. Then try playing some of
your own music files and see whether or not that works. If not, then
something is definitely wrong.

Yes, smart gain works "down" against a reference level as you can't go
over "100%"
If you really want to do more hacking on the Touch one thing that can
help a lot is magnifying goggles and a good light source. I bought mine
at Harbor Freight for $5 years ago, I think they still carry them but
the price might have gone up. It makes a BIG difference.

Thanks JJ I will try what you have suggested I wasn't using a nas or a
separate computer. I was trying to use the Sb directly. It's showing
all the radio stations and all albums with associated art from Spotify
so the unit is communicating well with my router which from what I have
read seems to b

I tried using the DAC on a Duet and I don't have this problem. I'm
assuming it has to do with the higher bitrate flac files that are
24/96. They are the ones that pop in the beginning prior to the first
note. On the Duet it's ok but I'm assuming it is because the Duet
resamples the file to 24/4
If you cue up only 24/96 songs in a list does it then pops between songs
or not,
This issue should be fixed all recent fw versions.
Popping when shifting samplerate is probably more of an DAC issue, as
the built in does not pop

Yeah, my Rega Dac pops when I change
I would recommend leaving the volume full up on the Touch and do the
controlling on your amp.

Normally, it doesn't pop between 24/
Yes, I've encountered this problem with the Touch when switching between
sample rates. Some DACs do not mute the sound when switching between
sample rates, so you end up with these popping noises.
