What is the easiest (and fastest) way to switch from a USB-stick to an
SD-card (both permanently installed) and vice versa?
If this issue has already been treated in FAQ or a thread on its own,

just as there is an option on the Touch to add a track permanently to a
stored playlist, is there an option to remove a track from a stored and
running playlist?

Yes, two ways while playing that Playlist:
1. If the currently playing track is what you want removed select the
Now Playing button
2. If it is a previously played or upcoming track in the Playlist,
press the Display Playlist button (upper right), scroll to tack, press
& hold that item...

Do these solutions remove the track permanently from the stored
playlist? When the particular playlist is played next time, that
track(s) is not present in the playlist?

To make the deletion(s) permanent you have to save the playlist again
after deleting the track(s) from the current playlist. Just as if you
opened the playlist file in a text editor.

I was afraid of that. you know it is cumbersome to save the play-list
using Touch IR remote , you have to enter the exact same title of the
play-list to overwrite the existing play-list and even a minor mistake
will result in an existing play-list + a new play-list. And there is

Perhaps my question was too obvious to answer, but after fooling around
a bit I got this to work. Simply set the FLAC setting under ALAC as
"FAAD/SOX". I had previously had it "Disabled".
Hope this helps those who looked at my question because they had a
similar one.

I installed the really nice VU meters as developed by Erland and Gazjam,
both members here, but,very often my Touch will freeze, shut down, and
then re start all on it's own if I am navigating anywhere on the Touch
via the remote whilst their VU's are showing, it will even do it as I
reach the VU'
Because play next only works with single tracks (which kind of makes
sense) while most people play whole albums most of the time

Which VU meters are you using, is it those in Custom Clock or those
installed with Patch Installer ?
Does it work reliable with the standard VU meters from Logitech ?

Are you telling me that I can use the Vortexbox for playing AVI and MKV
files by connecting it to my AV Reciver as well as FLAC and MP3's to my
Touch via the Ethernet cable connected to my Router (the touch also
connected to the Router)?

No, a VortexBox Appliance is a CD and DVD ripper and a server not a
player. It's running Logitech Media Server by default so it will work
great with your Touch. You can use it to get music to your Zune.
If you want the play mkv files on your TV you should get a BoxeeBox.
It's kinda like a Touch

the problem was in my NAS, your absolutely right about that. So Logitech
cannot be blamed of that.
The reason I was quite pissed is because there is very little
information in the touch manual about using a NAS. And the only
solution for DNS problems what you can find in the manual is this:

NAS has nothing to do with internet radio in regards to SqueezeBox, nor
does a PC or Mac. LMS on the other hand has a lot to do with internet
radio for the many users that do not want to switch servers for such
playback and desire the more robust and more configurable LMS server
versus the limite
Maybe the one thing that might help to avoid damage, is when the power
goes out, to go ahead and unplug the Touch from the outlet. Then plug
it back in once the power is restored. Might help avoid any power
spikes at the moment the power comes back up. But yeah, I could see

I think there might be a battle between the 2 from the audiophiles,I use
dbpoweramp and use uncompressed flac for mine,easier tagging,Enjoy your
