Just got the Touch presets configured: Settings - Advanced - Beta
Features - Shortcuts Only six presets available; I mapped press-hold
numeral keys 1 - 6 to presets 1 - 6, which are the same as my Favorites
1 thru 6. Now my touch presets match my SB 2/3s except numeral keys 7,
8, 9 do nothing.
Let's try this:
Using the remote, you have _exactly_ the same ability to turn off the
Touch off that you had with the SB2/3. It's immediate. The music stops.
You can set your off screensaver to display either a clock or completely
turn off the screen.
Consider the Touch interface to be a bonus.

I don't have an answer for a single one of your questions, but I'd try
powering off (by physically pulling out the power plug) for several
minutes, then powering back up. If that doesn't fix it, try doing a
factory reset by holding in the reset button on the back of the unit for
15 seconds or so,

After almost 10 years of faultless service from my slim / squeeze
devices, I think I may be experiencing my first failure. A SBT screen
appears to have lines in it (horizontal) as if every other line is not
working. The screen appears washed out / faded but the backlight seems
bright ( no contra
I'm glad to see it's not just me that's hearing a "switching" noise
periodically. My Touch is fed into a DACMagic and every few minutes or
so I hear the sound of a switch being flicked. Very annoying, especially
late at night when playing music at a quiet level. I believe the noise

A, thanks for the tip! I needed to "add library" with the ip address
of the Touch then select it.

New release available which moves where the kernel is hosted. My
original hosting provider has not been working today, so I've moved
where the kernel is hosted.
Please update the applet if you had problems with the kernel
installation as it needs the new applet to look to the new location.

I've been searching the Wikis and the forums but I seem to be missing

I prefer to avoid using an external USB hub, and I do need 96-24
capability. I will use external hub if that approach offers the best
bang for the buck. Budget cap is $350 US.
Also I would appreciate recommendation of a reliable USB hub
that does not require external power, in case I go with a D

Well it is good to know there is a logical explanation to the problem.
Please get it back soon.
I know you don't like sound quality being discussed in this thread but
having the standard output
back, while this is sorted is like listening to a cheap transistor radio
in comparison to your setup.

I installed the app successfully but the Kernel update fails every time
I try to update it, so I have yet to hear any results (and I'm running
firmware 7.7.2). However, before I spend any more time on this, could
someone clarify for me please:

I de-installed de EDO app, to hear the difference between 192 and 96Khz.
After I wanted to install de EDO app again, but after i choose to
install the app and de SBT reboots, I got the message that the kernel
could not be installed? When I look tot the installed apps, the SBT says
the EDO app is i

John, just one more question...
If I decide to "roll the dice" with this crazy idea of using a usb to
spdif converter at the output of the touch (because the sbt doesn't talk
to the particular dac usb input that I have via the EDO applet) ...then
from your reply is it possible that the touch coul
John, Thanks for an outstanding and well thought out reply. I agree
with everything you said. And silly me forgot about the impedance
mismatch issue between source and destination. One of the reasons I
wanted the short spdif cable between the output of the usb to spdif box
and the spdif input o
