in all likelyhood such a device will add jitter, not remove it.
I have used an Apogee Big Ben on the output of the Touch and there was
a small improvement, but that's a device that costs 5x what the Touch
does.

check and make sure that there's only one partition on the drive and
it's physical.

the browse button my the Music Folder field to find your music folder.
After you have it set, press the Rescan button at the bottom of the
page.
In a few minutes, the Touch should be able to access and play all the
music files in that folder.

The NTFS formatted Samsung Story was also recognized by the Touch -
yippee
and dandy except that the disk IS formatted as NTFS and
has one logical partition. I ran chkdsk on the drive and everything was
OK. It has 2300 files, and is about a third full.
Has anyone else seen this or have any ideas?

The first two drives were PATA (not that I see that should make any
