Absorbed a lot of good information, and have been able to use my USB
successfully now, still fiddling around a bit but getting better playing
my 96 / 24 HD tracks successfully as well, as everyone is pointing out
scanning can take a bit of time but not to bad since I only have about
6000 something

Why? You should be able to transfer files over the network with the
drive still attached to the Touch. Then you do need to rescan, but a
"new and changed" scan shoul
I also use the touch connected to a usb drive with no issues.
The good thing is that you don't have to swich on any kind of pc/nas so
you are completely independent and less consuming electricity.
The bad thing is that when you want to transfer more music, you have to
unplug the the drive and rees

It is the potentially worst way to use it. That said, my brother uses a
TOUCH with attached USB for the last couple of years with no issues. He
has about 50,000 mp3 files on about a 4 year old 1TB USB
Useful info, Gary.
Looks like there's no point in using USB on the LST.

Wow, thank you garym and dasmueller,
I think that I am making progress slowly, I did as you suggested garym,
downloaded and installed new software went through faultlessly also
registered with mysqueezebox.com and was able to change owners at the
same time, so that is all OK now.
Managed to search

This is also a good resource to explore

And I assume you've already gone to "mysqueezebox.com" on the web,
created an account. As part of the setup process you'll have to ente

Hi all, first visit and new to Touch.
I would like to know what I should be doing here. I have just received
my Touch used, and when I connect it to my cable network, it picked it
up without a hick-up, that was good, but it wants to update the Software
to version:

If you still want to go with the usb interface (using tiny sbs). I can
strongly recommend FAT instead. Ntfs makes it just more difficult to
get it to work. As suggested, only one single partition. Some people are
lucky to get it to work by using usbkeys, but if you really want to deal
with tiny-sbs
The Western Digital "My Passport" drives came with two partitions the
last time I looked. There's a procedure to make the "CD" software
partition invisible I think.
As the Touch was designed before USB3 came out, perhaps that's part of
the problem with flash stick.

Some basic Touch + USB/SD troubleshooting...

- Check the formatting of the device, Touch supported formats: FAT16,
FAT32, NTFS, ext2, ext3
- Touch can only see/use a single partition, format as a single
partition, or use only the first partition for all releva

Hi there
If my post is in the wrong section, please feel free to move it!
I recently bought a Touch and updated it to the newest available
Version 7.6.1.
Now I have a series of issues with the device, making it very hard to
use:
First of all - the playback of Music through USB devices - I was

I'm not sure we will ever see that on the Touch or Radio, but it sure
would be nice. Having to reset these
I'm a very new user to SB devices... bought the SB Boom and was so

That's the way it is. The Touch, Radio, and Controller are all a big

Hi,
I have been using Squeezebox for a number of years, but only with SB3
Classics and a Boom.
I just added a Touch to my collection and have noticed that it seems to
be a lot less configurable from the Web UI -- a lot more seems to take
place on the device itself.
Am I missing something, or is
