Absorbed a lot of good information, and have been able to use my USB successfully now, still fiddling around a bit but getting better playing my 96 / 24 HD tracks successfully as well, as everyone is pointing out scanning can take a bit of time but not to bad since I only have about 6000 something

I also use the touch connected to a usb drive with no issues. The good thing is that you don't have to swich on any kind of pc/nas so you are completely independent and less consuming electricity. The bad thing is that when you want to transfer more music, you have to unplug the the drive and rees

Wow, thank you garym and dasmueller, I think that I am making progress slowly, I did as you suggested garym, downloaded and installed new software went through faultlessly also registered with mysqueezebox.com and was able to change owners at the same time, so that is all OK now. Managed to search

If you still want to go with the usb interface (using tiny sbs). I can strongly recommend FAT instead. Ntfs makes it just more difficult to get it to work. As suggested,only one single partition. Some people are lucky to get it to work by using usbkeys, but if you really want to deal with tiny-sbs

The Western Digital "My Passport" drives came with two partitions the last time I looked. There's a procedure to make the "CD" software partition invisible I think. As the Touch was designed before USB3 came out, perhaps that's part of the problem with flash stick. -- R Johnson ---
