I got tired of Leah underestimating everyone's capacity to judge for
themselves if something is true or not, based on facts.
It's ridiculous how she considers that we're all morons and that we'll simply
take her word despite what we see with our own eyes.
I'm also tired of having to come
Alternatively, I'm right, and your response is - and vltr's supporting

You two are in perfect sync, both in the timing of your posts, and in the
things you say, and the attitudes that you have.
This is mere speculation. It's impossible to prove
Just for the record, for clarity, I want to say what happened:
* Technoethical tried to trash Minifree in this thread, suggesting that
Minifree provides poor quality service/products
* One of my customers, whose order I did genuinely screw up - yes, mistakes
happen, sometimes. they are none
Yes, this ^
This former customer of mine does not appreciate the great lengths I've gone
to to make things right, with their order, one of those few rare ones I mess
up on - which I've admitted I messed up several times.
Instead of being happy, they went an an angry crusade against me
Actually, no. It's just you and Tiberiu against me. Nobody else.
But you've tried to turn others against me, by painting Minifree as being
worse than it is. You've repeatedly spread FUD against my company, and I hope
that the negative effect of everything you and Tiberiu have done in this
I literally do not defraud or deceive my customers.
I literally ship every order, or refund when requested.
The comments by this person and Tiberiu in this thread are blatant,
consistent, concentrated attacks against me.
I ship almost every order, in good time, and the products that I sell
No answer? Very well:
Here's what happened: either you didn't ask for refund/repair/replacement, or
you did ask and I provided it.
Despite what you claim to the contrary, I didn't defraud or mistreat you
either. True, I messed up your order, I freely admit that, but what you've
said
Despite what you claim to the contrary, I serve most of my customers well.
Their order is shipped in reasonable time, in good quality.
In the rare circumstance that I do mess up an order, such as yours, I always

Btw
There is a difference between a critic and a troll
food for thought?
I just want the trolling, the FUD and the slander against Minifree to stop.
It has repeatedly been suggested, in this thread, that Minifree deceives its
customers and that it ships poor quality products and provides low quality
service.
These suggestions are 100% false.
Until today,
I'll say it once more: your order was a mistake. I rectified it as best i
could. You chose not to exercise your rights. You are still well within your
right to either receive a refund, repair or replacement of any faulty product
that you received.
I'll also say this once more: your bad
I request that all of Technoethical's posts in this thread be deleted, along
with any posts related to the dispute that I had with them. The negative
review against Minifree should be moved to a separate thread.
The threads promoting Technoethical should also be deleted. They are spam,
In fact, Technoethical (aka Tiberiu) posted on this very thread, threatening
Minifree legally.
Btw I repeatedly said, in this thread, that Technoethical is also a good
alternative to Minifree. This, in spite of them spamming about themselves in
this thread that wasn't about them.
At no point have I ever told people not to buy from Technoethical. I have
only ever asked Technoethical
^ I 100% agree with this. This is not the first time I've had a major dispute
with Tiberiu/Technoethical on Trisquel forums.
I want it to stop. I posted this thread here about Minifree's Libreboot X200
with the intention of telling people about it, and answering questions etc.

So hey, Tiberiu.
As I said earlier, I don't want to talk to you. I only came to this thread to
check up on it just now. Just FYI: I shipped 8 laptops today. I'm shipping
many more tomorrow, and on Friday.
I'm sending them all to Trisquel forums to write reviews.
~Leah
I want it to be known that I 100% agree with loldier and gnutastyc.
The purpose of this thread is to promote Minifree's Libreboot X200, and to
answer questions about it. Nothing else.
I do hope Technoethical will stop trying to trash this thread. I have no
intention to continue

Sigh
People like me, huh? Get over yourself, sheesh
But yeah, borderline sociopaths never know when to quit. So I'm asking you:
please stop this madness.
Here's a factual account of what has happened in this thread:
1) I posted a link telling people about a newly launched product for this
Leah:
> You also see fit to promote yourself, in a thread that is not about your
company, while attempting to de-rail this thread.
Get real. The history of events:
1. You announce the re-launch of X200 at Minifree, inviting people to place
orders.
2. A forum member recommends buying from
As stated before, I wish to stop talking to you. Please stop responding in
this thread, and please stop lying that Minifree sells low quality products:
it doesn't. Minifree is an honest company, and provides the best quality it
possibly can. Your statement that good, decent products from
Like I said, I don't want to talk to you further. You continue to spread FUD
about me, and accuse me of doing the same. I never got anyone to post in your
T400S thread.
Of course, it's only natural that you'd deny my accusations, while continuing
to take part in this thread. Your tactic
Leah:
> It's clear that it is in his best interest to trash me as much as possible
That has never been among my objectives. Nor wish that your company didn't
exist, as you've accused me of in one of your earlier comments.
I just wish, like everybody else, that you stop lying that your prices
Leah:
> It's obvious to me that Tiberiu asked you to do this. The timing is too
perfect.
False. Allow me to speculate about the timing: you announce the relaunch of
one of your products and invite people to buy from you. This reminds people
that they don't have a good experience with your
Leah:
> Finding one of my angry customers, someone who was unhappy with the service
they received at Minifree, who then told Technoethical about this and bought
from them instead, and asking them to vandalize a Minifree thread on the
Trisquel forums... this is not an attack? Interesting.
I want to say that I very much 100% agree with SuperTramp83.
I'm not happy at all with what Tiberiu and Technoethical has tried to do to
this thread. Successfully, it seems.
I sincerely hope that people do not believe their statements about me. It's
clear that it is in his best interest to
So hey, can you stop trying to trash Minifree?
It's obvious to me that Tiberiu asked you to do this. The timing is too
perfect. I mean call me paranoid but... yeah.
I'll repeat again: your order at Minifree was under warranty. So if you did
receive a bad product, you were within your right
Indeed. As previously stated, Minifree offers a 2 year warranty on all
orders. As also stated, I do not wish to discuss with Tiberiu further.
You are also quite correct that you are not at fault for what you interpreted
as a bad experience. If you want me to do something with your previous
Btw the +1 is from me.
I admire you, Tiberiu, I really do. This post demonstrates how committed you
are to your current pursuit.
Hint hint: what I say/think in the past is not necessarily the same as what I
say/think now.
Here's what I say/think now: Technoethical is a wonderful company,
Actually, work on the X220 is ongoing. I haven't given up on that, I just
haven't had enough time to work on it due to selling T400s in the last couple
months. My workload is higher now than it was back then. The 15 or so X220
pre-order customers have all been offered refunds.
As

I'm happy that you're selling again X200, because this is a confirmation of
the false hopes you've been feeding free software users about the X220.
But you keep telling everyone that
So you can either stay small and not register for VAT, or get big and have to
register for VAT - and charge more to your EU customers - or lower your
price. Tough call.
Minifree is much larger than Technoethical, and has existed for longer. We
get many sales, so I have to be very efficient
> In that case then yes your 430 EUR figure makes sense.
Thanks for admitting in the end. I'm pretty sure that the customer that has
repeated your statement "half price" is from EU and doesn't own a
VAT-registered business. Like most customers from EU complaining about

So hey, tiberiu
Remember that thing you said earlier in this thread about not wanting to

I'm just curious if you remember saying that. Pro-tip: if you don't want me

No, it's not safe. Bank transfers are not common to pay for goods over the
Internet. To make a bank transfer, one really needs to trust the merchant. A
customer can't file a chargeback with bank transfer. And
Leah:
> Despite some statements being said here by one or two people
That's an understatement. There are at least ten on this forum, and the ones
that haven't spoken up are many more. Take for example another recent
discussion:
I apologize that you had this bad experience. I just want to clear a few
things up, though:
Bank transfer is a perfectly safe method of paying someone over the internet.
I've been doing it with my customers for years.
I'm not going to tell you that you are wrong, or that your experience is
Yes, I very well may do so. If you're interested in the T400, we also sell
that at Minifree in addition to the X200.
Despite some statements being said here by one or two people, Minifree
actually does take strides to provide the best possible customer services.
This includes reasonably fast shipping, and high product quality.
Of course, it's also true that critics are the loudest voices, and I accept
It's a misconception that Technoethical products cost double than from other
companies.
Tacking into account only the total paid for the X200 with the specs

€478 EUR = Technoethical X200 (8GB RAM)

For booting GNU+Linux, you don't even need BIOS/UEFI. GRUB boots the linux
kernel directly.
For other OS e.g. BSD, ReactOS(not yet supported) you would need BIOS
services. The free "SeaBIOS" payload provides this. The next version of
Libreboot will have a substantially improved "SeaGRUB"
Actually, the latest version of Libreboot, which comes preinstalled on these
laptops, uses a custom payload called "SeaGRUB". It's SeaBIOS, configured to
immediately load GRUB after 0s, without allowing any other option, where both
SeaBIOS and GRUB are in the flash chip alongside
Hi Tiberiu :)
We share a mutual interest, and yes, Technoethical is also an excellent

Just FYI, all current Minifree orders are on time to arrive to their

I don't want to start an argument, especially since we at Technoethical
believe that there is enough room for everyone in the world to sell laptops
with fully free BIOS and fully free OS. And we have other priorities, like
not disappointing our customers that are waiting to get their orders
Not yet, unfortunately. I've had to delay that work, hence the X200

notified as of today, asking what they would like to do regarding their

The security implications of having a laptop shipped to you is identical,
whether you purchase from that company or Minifree. They are both the same

It was decided that Trisquel would be re-introduced, so that Minifree's
systems could remain in compliance with FSF Respects Your Freedom criteria.
My usual answer would be no, since this isn't technically endorsed by the
FSF. However, since Uruk is closely based on Trisquel, then I think it would
be OK.
In the textbox on the checkout page when you order, mention that you would
like Uruk instead of Trisquel, and I will see what I can

You need to solder the wires on the BIOS chip pins (which is found between
the RAM slots and the full-sized mPCIe slot, under the black protection
foil). These pins are very tiny and the most fragile, especially the CS (Chip
Select pin), and the GND (Ground) pin is particularly difficult to
The T400s requires soldering, and you need more experience with it than
soldering on the X200s and the X200T chips. The T400, T500 and X200 don't
require soldering (clips are already available).

Hi J.B. Nicholson-Owens,
My parents smoke, and Minifree used to operate from my parents house. I moved
out in April 2016 and since then, Minifree has operated from a smoke-free
home :)
If someone who works for me is a smoker, I make them go outside into my back

Minifree ships the P8400 by default, since that is most common. A few of them
have higher speed CPUs though, so if you're lucky you'd get one that's a
little bit faster.
@Archetyp: Regarding the MS sticker on the base of your laptop: this is
