В программе PDF Chain есть вкладка Background/Stamp, там надо выбрать
исходный pdf и второй в качестве подложки или штампа, т.е. можно сделать
то, что предложил Dmitry Agafonov, до печати.

Пакет ImageMagick имеет утилиту convert:
convert -density 600 some.pdf some_%03d.png
density - DPI для растеризации

в версии без установленных обновлений регуляторы работают

Если видяха ATI и используется opensource-драйвер, то установка fglrx
может исправить ситуацию.
