os arquivos baixados vão parar, salvo engano, em /var/cache/aptt/archives . quanto às dependências, creio que ele vá baixar as que faltarem no seu computador, então eventualmente pode ainda faltar algo no dele (como , por exemplo, se você instalou o build-essential e ele não).
