I'm still seeing oddball hangs of the X server which do not hang the

goes to the logs. I just get messages about the GPU in the tty I'm using to

able to boot, and now i reseted the computer 8 times (2 with full power
off) and it finally booted. I think that it fails right before showing

Okie dokie, tracked it down to libxkbcommon (didn't realize that'd load
up on its own), which is not installed by default and still early enough
on in development that this error message is not worth silencing.

Hrm. I dug into the source code on this one, but there really isn't a
clean way to suppress the error message for specific kinds of drivers,
since the error message comes from general purpose module loading logic.
I find the extraneous error annoying but it's not worth the trouble to
suppress.

in debian/rules:

In my situation this is something I found in the logs.
I analyzed the logs and compared it to a normal log and besides the similar
stack dump I see one significant difference in the problematic log is this:
[drm] radeon: 3584M of VRAM memory ready
[drm] radeon: 512M of GTT memory ready.

Is the issue simply that the input movement didn't rotate with the
screen? I.e. you push mouse up/down and instead it goes left/right.
If that's the case, try using xinput to rotate the input too. Here's a
reasonably easy to follow blog post on how to do this:
