problems. most of the time the laptop remained always connected to the

I'm glad someone finally found a *possible* solution to this, for a lack
of a better word, annoying issue. This is especially annoying when
having to ssh into the machine to 1) shutdown 2 VMs running, 2) attempt
to kill any programs that may cause issues if crashed and 3) finally

Can someone please update the package "nvidia-current" from version

Version .40 has some serious bugs and many users automatically install

producing when I interact with software, when other software is loading,

When I install the recommended driver for my graphics card, no system
menus or functions are available except for the cursor and sometimes the
display settings, which then lets me go to system settings to deactivate
the driver.

OK, enough is enough, still not fixed for me, I've given it a month or
more. This is the first time I've had to actually abandon a release, I
can't take the crashes I'm seeing every 20minutes.
I don't underestimate the complexity of locating faults like this, but
its been a month and I can't take

Yes, I am doing it locally. Not ssh. I have no way to ssh. Is it not

Both of my hard drives in RAID 1 (mirror) started failing. I suspect
because I had to frequently hard-reset the machine :(
My freezes stopped (hopefully) after I uninstalled VirtualBox downloaded
from the Oracle web-site and installed the one from the standard Ubuntu
repository.
