Sound Juicer's default output should be the folder named Music in your
home directory. Make sure it is there, and its permissions are correct.
The folder hierarchy in Edit-->Preferences needs to make sense too.

I looked at DSL-N for a bit, and that looks like it might not be the
answer for a future SlimCD "live CD" either. I wonder if just using
Ubuntu to make a new live CD with SqueezeCenter might be the answer to
this problem.

keep using what you have grown accustomed to using. It is at least an
option.

under wine as EAC. It has problems ejecting CDs,
(although upgrading wine to version 0.9.50 seems to help,) and it has a
problem being minimized on my machine. Turning off desktop window
management in wine specifically for dBpoweramp helps with that.

it was all that difficult to get running.

I definitely recommend SeaGate. I am using an external SeaGate FreeAgent
750 Gbyte connected via USB 2.0. I reformatted it as a Linux drive. It
has a small footprint, looks nice, does not get very hot, and is
extremely quiet.

Ubuntu 7.04 machine now, without a hiccup - so it is possible to make
it work!

I had this problem too.
I am running Ubuntu 7.04, and the Java 6 JRE versions would not work.
What finally did work for me was to install the Java 1.5.0_11 JRE,
Softsqueeze version 3.4, and Slimserver 6.5.3.
I have it running now, as I write this.

That is kind of weird. I like using the arrow keys, as it is easier to

RAM usage is about 60%:) However - that is in fact about as high as I
have ever seen RAM usage.
It works like a real computer doing real work. Considering how small it
is, it makes Vista look sick.

I have been exercising SlimCD considerably, and with only a few tweaks

the machine running SlimCD, the Windows XP File Explorer freezes up and
this happens every time. It takes a long time for the file Explorer to
time out.
Is there anyway I can get samba to work here?
