Barney, I don't know about Linux, but I, too, have had the similar problems, only on XP. Perhaps the following may be of help. A main issue is the user interface. It compounds the problem if you're on a slow connection, or have slow access to the Revolution server where the videos are stored.

Dear RR-ers, I find that if I import an image (GIF/JPG) into a RR stack that has multiple cards a resize problem: e.g. I import an image of size 500 x 500 to card 1 and then send set width of img "Richmond" to 200 set height of img "Richmond" to 200 it resizes OK (unsurprising really!) - i

open printing with dialog -- Windows equiv?

The "open printing with dialog" command does not display a print dialog under Windows (as per the docs, as well as it simply not working, which is why I read this in the docs); is there any way to display the print dialog under Windows when doing this type of printing? Thank you! --

Yep! You need to lock the size & location of the image from the Size pane of the properties window, or set the lockLoc property to true under Transcript (same thing), in order to prevent the image from being resized when you open the card. Same applies to "put" -- if you do something like
