The specific cause of the error is found, which is caused by the inconsistency

Hi,
It depends the type of message, is it text message ?
By the way, the expiration time is a property of the message.

Hi,
Is it possible to set message expiration time for broker. Producer can
specify time to live for a message and after that time it will expire. But
if a producer does not specify expiration time, then all unconsumed messages
will always be there in kahadb. Is there a way by which broker can

Hi all,
By reading the JavaDoc I wasn't able to figure out exactly what
setJMSExpiration(long) does.
If I use a value of 6 for example (IN THE SENDER CODE) does that mean that
the message will be deleted from the store if not consumed in aproximately 1

yes, it is specified in milliseconds and with 5.3.1. for queues, the message
will be automatically expired, independent of consumer activity.

I've found the answer:
http://markmail.org/message/fvef2ur5dim6vjkx
The expires property should be set to the time of expiration (in
millis) instead of the span to now.
So in my tests I am going to add some milliseconds to
System.currentTimeMillis().

Also in the durable subscriber we are doing an ack and commiting the message

Still the message does not expire and when we restart the consumers, they

Has this been fixed

Hi,
one question about the message expiration in combination with topics.
I know how to configure the time-to-live.
A message first resides inside the journal. After the checkpointing(how to
configure checkpointing??), it is persisted in a database (if JDBC is
configured).

Hello Active MQ users/developers ,
Our application is currently using Actiive MQ
4.1.1 version. We have an embedded broker in Tomcat 5.5 , without
persistence , durable subscribers and Topic publishers , with a time to
live of 5 minutes for the messages. I have observed
we dont actively try and purge messages from storage yet - only when
they are paged in from store to process (e.g. if there is a consumer
already).

nothing that comes close to expiring messages that are now days old.

is : is this a bug or is this an expected behaviour for
