I guess you need to put it inside a Java if statement.
You can wrap it all in a logicsheet, for convenience:
Something like this (untested):

Hello Cocoon users,
Using Cocoon 2.1.10.
I'm just working on some XSP logic sheets using ESQL to create XML views of my
MySQL database.
There are two things I'd like to be able to do:
1) Stop it from producing empty elements.
e.g. I have: which,
if the duration field is empty, w

Hello,
Is there a way to upload and process a file by using XSP? I see there's a
widget for Cocoon forms, but as I'm using only XSP I can't use that... can
I?
I have enabled the upload option in Cocoon's config file. I'd like this

now it's working.

Oh yeah, and might I add that when I try to access one of the samples that
also uses XSP, for exmaple
http://localhost:8080/cocoon/samples/simpleform/one/index
I also get the error. So it is obviously a problem with Cocoon as a whole.
But I have not changed anything on Cocoon, I just
Hello everyone!
I've just started learning cocoon. I passed the basics of transforming an
xml into html with my own stylesheet, and now I want to do some basic
action with an XSP page. I used the tutorial from the Cocoon web site:
http://cocoon.apache.org/2.1/userdocs/xsp/logicsheet
n xsl stylsheet. I guess I could do it using files instead of trying
to pass it directly from generator to transformer, but that seems kind
of kludgy.

In a related question, my java code is generating XML code to return to
