monitor which I turned off when not in use, and now with a TFT screen
(on all the time).
A screen saver might be causing the problem too - disable it and see if
thet helps.

It's the equivalent of OO's Paste Special with cells shifted, but with
OO you have to do it thru the Edit > Paste Special > Shift Cells dialogue.
I know of no shortcut key or mouse shortcut to do it in as few
keystrokes as Excel.
