on my laptop (SuSE 9, KDE 3), without a problem. However on my desktop, a
Debian stable box with KDE 2.something, it just hangs until timeout whenever
I try to check my mail. the settings within KMail are identical.

2.4.18-1-k7 (it's an Athlon), I ran LILO, which found the new image, but

I'm trying to cron a backup routine from one machine (A) to another (B). I
tried tunnelling rsync through ssh, but it requires a password, and allowing
passwordless logins on A is not something I want to do.
I guess I could smbmount the share on B and then run rsync as if it was
local, bu

I'm trying to get Plone running on my Debian box, but the current Plone
requires a version of Zope that is higher than the current Debian stable.
However, Plone can be installed using apt-get from the testing
distributions.

Let me warn you first, though: There's no point having a backup plan if you

Quick quesiton:
I have a 10-drive RAID 5 and one of the drives failed. So, I swapped it out,
followed the instructions and everything, and not it's in the process of
rebuilding the array (I think). The lights are flashing on 9 out of ten of
the drives.
How long should this take? Each drive is 1

So, we run a bunch of windows 2K stations and 4 Linux (Debian and RH)

Suddenly, if we try to get to a share on ANY of the Linux boxes from
windows, we get:

We're shopping for a new server setup here at my office. We've looked at
Dell and IBM and Apple, all approved BYU suppliers, but I was impressed with
Vision Computers' offerings. Well, some people are not liking the idea of
going with a lesser-known company, citing support and reliability
Zola does have a static IP, and when I set my laptop to it, I got out no
problem.
/sbin/route revealed that somewhere along the way, my default gateway got
changed from x.x.x.1 to x.x.x.0. that fixed the problem.

Somebody in my building decided to give their workstation a static IP
without registering with OIT. Turns out, the IP they chose was the one for
my web server (Zola).
The problem seems to be fixed, but now Zola can't see outside of the switch
