I actually made my double tap time faster not slower. I had no problems when double tapping when using my iPhone screen. Of course, I mostly use my Hable One with my phone, not the screen, but when I do use the screen on my iPhone 13 pro max, I have no issues double tapping and it working

Hi Gena, I would suggest you ask somebody to call you. Use the earpods that came with your iPhone and press the middle button (the slightly resessed area) to answer the call and see if that works. If you can talk to the person and the call does not hang up you at least know your phone works fine.
