I mostly use my Hable One with my phone, not the screen, but when I do
use the screen on my iPhone 13 pro max, I have no issues double

This setting was set to 2.5 seconds with the ios17.1 update or the ios17
version. I'm not certain which one, but a lot of the users changed that
setting. I changed mine to 3.5 seconds and have had no problems since.

I have an iPhone 13 Pro and both methods work for me.
If you are on iOS 17.1 or 17.2 have you increased the double tap response time

You can also use the Magic Tap. You have to wake up the watch first, though.

i have to turn voiceover off to let anybody sighted do anything with it and,

On my phone there is an answer button that appears on the screen when
a call comes in. Of course I guess if you have your screen curtain
turned on this could be a problem for a sighted person trying to
answer your phone.

Hi Barbara,
You can't answer by voice, of course you can answer very easily if your
headset is connected by pressing the answer/hang-up button which is also the
Play/Pause button when you are not on a call. It is the slightly resessed
middle area on the headsets remote.
