Apple considers 84% battery capacity sufficiently reduced for replacement. The
battery on my 6S Plus was at 84% last year when I asked at an Apple Store to
have it replaced when they offered the $29.99 battery replacement and the
technician said they can certainly do this given it's at 84%.

If you don't need to look at the screen, I would recommend turning down screen
brightness. You can find that setting in the general option under settings.

Hi David,
The battery draining problem is getting worse, so yesterday evening before
going out I charged the phone as much as I could and timed the drainage. It
dropped 35% in a 3 1/2 hour period of time. Hence, I will place my complaint to
Apple accessibility. The phone was completely drained
I turned off all background refresh. It looks like location services gets
switched on. This causes 15-20% battery drain per hour, and the GPS antenna is
the only thing that is this power demanding.
Also, it looks as though this is only happening to people running VO. None of
my sighted friends
after the update.

I was concerned about the use
I was concerned about the use of the batteries well. It seemed to be draining
faster than before the upgrade. However, I went into settings and noticed that
brightness was back to 100%. I turned it down to zero and now my battery seems
to be behaving as before.

This only works to an extent, as under ios version 7.06 these apps in
the background didn't particularly drain the battery.

Chris, it's pretty well documented that Bluetooth gets turned on in the

Hi, JoJo,
I am also having this experience as well. Someone on the list mentioned
this a couple of days ago and said that you need to go into Background App
