I don't think you will find in app purchasing for Nook; thank you Apple.

Perhaps you will find the Barnes and Noble Mobile website more
friendly.
Here's a link:

I think I'll put it on my iPhone and see if I can order books through
the mobile site.

Thanks for clarifying this, Grant. I have noticed that I've seen more in-app
purchases for other material and not as many, if any, for books, so this would
seem to clarify this issue.

I have to say, Mike, I kind of agree with you. I have done searches starting

Amazon has them beat hands down for site organization. But of course, we
already know about inaccessible Kindle. I guess nothing's perfect.

I used the website to try to find some books and was amazed at how confusing it
was. I am sure with practice it will all work out but for someone newt the site
it is a frustrating experience.

Teresa,
In-app purchasing definitely exists and it's very popular. You can use
it, say, to upgrade from List Recorder's Lite version to the pro
version.
But Apple does take a cut of all the profits, so if, say, Audible.com
offered in-app purchasing of its titles, that would equate to a pretty

Good too know Mary. I will check for these books searching for under fibe
dollar books. As someone else said, though, the best is we now can check in
both places and get the book at the cheapest price. As for putting into
categories, I guess if I got a lot of books that would be a problem for me
I'm not sure what your question related to, "does iBooks do the same? Yes, they
have books under $5. And yes, you can delete a book from a device and get it
back later if you wish. One thing I really like about ibooks is the ability to
organize your books in categories. You can't do that on the
In my opinion, the Nook app seems not quite as intuitive, but the reading is
comparable or possibly even better on Nook. In Nook the two-finger
swipe-down works wonderfully, and definitely as you read and two-finger
double-tap to stop reading you can do anything and come right back to where

As I understand it, Apple's policy is that non-native apps aren't permitted to
have in-app purchases. This applies to EBook apps.

Remember when you use to be able to buy books from the Audible app by linking
directly to their store? Apple's insistence on taking a cut of all such sales
