You can copy photos by hooking your phone up to the PC, but this won't preserve
any albums you made. I believe you can sync photos to your computer where the
albums you made are preserved via iTunes. How accessible this is in the current
version of iTunes I don't know.

That’s the problem. It would be difficult to select the new photos- the ‘import
pictures and videos’ dialog which came up automatically in Win7 ONLY imported
new pics without having to do anything. All I had to do was name the folder if
I chose- and everything else was automatic. I’ve lost that
upload your photos then it will happen wirelessly in
the background. If, for example, you are a Dropbox user, you can turn on Camera
roll or Camera Backup (can’t remember what exactly it is called), but it is in
the Setting of the Dropbox app. It will create a Camera Uploads folder in your
Dropbox
Are you all using the 'Photo' app in Win10 to import pictures? I don't
understand all the buttons to select from. The Win7 program just did it all
without asking me to make all these non-intuitive selections. Can you use
the Win7 program in Win10? Thanks.
