Michael, I know this won't help, but I have this exact same problem with four iTunes songs, it goes round in circles asking for reauthorisation etc etc. All other iTunes songs play with no problems, it is just with these four. A friend of mine had a similar problem a couple of years

Recover photos from iPod touch

Hello Wendy Michael, Have you tried fully de-authorising the iTunes application and then reauthorising it, so the program goes through a full cycle of changing the authorisation settings. Then Quit iTunes and restart iTunes. If you've hit the five-authorisation limit so that when you try

Hi Ronni, I have indeed tried de-authorising butt de-authorisation was unsuccessful on every attempt. I have now solved the problem somewhat clumsily by accepting the presence of the phantom account and seeking a password change for it. Everything is now working perfectly. Many thanks

Hi Michael, I imagine that you did not de-authorise your old Mac that iTunes was authorised on before bringing everything onto your new Mac. You have to de-authorise the old machine before you can authorise the new machine. If your work around is working ok ... that's good. Ronni On
