Have you upgraded to Version 5?
If not, do all the usual prep: backup, run disk utility etc and then
download Version 5 and see whether that has any effect.

Hi Matthew,
I would hate to burst your bubble, but if you are connecting via PPoE, you
connection is being NAT'd, monitored and filtered.
This is in response to peoples lack of understanding of how networks function,
do you think ISP's will give people access without some form of control.

Looks like I spoke too soon.I can send emails from one computer in
the house to the other but they do not work from external senders!
So any WAMUG folks with Thunderbird expertise? Please let me know.
Thanks again Ronni, but it seems that deleting the .msf files does
not work. So
That’s good Bill,
As long as we get the result you wanted, I guess it doesn’t matter if we don’t
find the reason “How” the problem happened ;-)
I’m pleased I was able to help.

Sticks in the craw, tho, when you see the difference in the price offered to

We're talking the developer version, cos I like developing my own database

Ronni,
Can now report success by deleting the relevant .msf files and re-
starting. Both accounts now work again. I don't think it matters
much what the files are called and that in-silico are not experiencing
any issues.
Thank you so much for your help.

Hi Ronni
This will need more investigation by me. I had a quick look at Doug's
AppleScripts site and saw several items of interest.
As you suggested, it seems there is a 255 character limit for user input in
iTunes. The 'OH!' moment was the use of the term 'long description' which I

Its the mid May thing that has me bothered. I do not use Thunderbird
either, but I will try further after backing up all emails in both
accounts and try deleting the .msf files as per protocol earlier.

Hi Alan,
I seem to remember reading something about iTunes short description field is
limited to 255 characters.
Ok, I’ve done some searching and found this information.
I’m not sure if this AppleScript from ‘Doug’s AppleScripts for iTunes’ will do
what you want.
I’ve never used it, so cannot c
Ronni,
See my comments below, however, the thing to note is that we
transferred from in-silico to get-on-line quite smoothly (6 months
ago) and all email accounts were operating normally, new account data
all correct. ( until Mid May) I rang in-silico just now and they have
no trace of an
