I have spotted Nice Dress Nellie on the Bob Newhart Show. But I still don't
know her name.

Did anyone pursue this connection when we were trying to find out the name of
the actress who plays Nellie?
Since it is not a speaking part on the Newhart show either, I don't suppose it
was ever listed in the credits.

I have been recording The Bob Newhart show on The Hallmark Channel, since is
comes on about 1:00 am. Last night I was watching one of the recorded episodes,
it was about Bob's birthday. The surprise party guests come out of hiding and I
really think one of them was nice dress Nellie. Did anyone
Was it a Master's in Journalism? At least she was writing that thesis about

Since the Hasbro folks are producing an Elvis Mr. Potato Head, why can't they
do a Barney Fife Mr. Potato Head? Just wondering, he seemed so fond of Mr.
Potato Head that he actully bought one to rehabilitate a prisoner. Seems the
least they could do!

This is one of my favorites. According to the Mayberry Memories book Jimmy's
owner was Cy Hudgins. Just one letter off my maiden name, Hudgens. When Andy
calls Cy Hudg I always think of my Dad saying he was called that a lot in the
Army. He served in WW II.

One thing I've wondered...The point was very well established that his car had
gas, lots of gas. The filling station was only open for Gomer to pump gas. So
why did Andy take Mr. Tucker over there in the first place? But, he did seem a
sort of pushy type, maybe he forced the issue.
There was that woman reporter who wrote the column Meandering with Margaret
who was in the barbershop. She was only there briefly because when she found
out that Andy would kill a Carp she went home where that would never happen.

Barney wished Mrs. Mendelbright's upcoming marriage to Mr. Fields would end in
a quickie Mexican divorce...of course, the marriage never took place, so that
may not count. But the word was mentioned.

I think the electric clippers would have been too noisy...Of course, Floyd
could have just pretended to be actually cutting the hair with them, same as he
did with the scissors. But might have been more noticeable that he was just
pretending.

I'm sure there is a logical explanation, but how did the Ladies' Historical
Society know there was a direct descendent of Nathan Tibbs living in Mayberry
but not know who he was? Seems the tracing might have gone the other way. But

Hi all,
Just my take on Aunt Bee and the choir robes, from the ladies' point of view.
Yes, it could have seemed she and the others were being a bit pushy but I can
just see it now. They had probably baked countless cakes and pies for charity
bake sales, raising funds for choir robes. Then at
Did anyone read Dear Abby on March 6 and think of Floyd Lawson? The headline in
one paper said False Profile About to Rear Its Ugly Head...and Abby even said
others in the letter writing group might have misrepresented themselves as
well! Sure sounded like an outline of Floyd, the Gay Deceiver
Is there a reference to Valentine's Day in any episode? I can't think of any,
not even when the Morrison sisters were talking about all the valid reasons for

I believe Goober, like Thelma Lou is never seen in
church.
But we can safely assume, I think, that Thelma Lou did attend the same church
as Edgar Coleman...At least they were gluing the covers back on some hymn books
you recall.

Check out this piece in the Sunday paper here in Northwest Arkansas. This

I remember thinking it odd one time when Aunt Bee mentioned some homemade wine
that Andy made...Was it the episode with Frank and the blamed grading book?
Can't remember for sure, but I do know Aunt Bee was trying to point out Andy's
talents. Didn't show them drinking the wine, but I just

Seems like I remember that he puddled up a little bit when Andy was trying to

I was watching the episode where the new doctor in town removes Opie's

doctor did have a small hospital with his office, all at his residence. Don't

Just thinking...Doesn't Barney pull his ticket book from his back pocket? So
could he have his wallet in the shirt pocket? Remember, he stashes cash all
over...pulls cash from his hat, sock, when starting the Save the Scobey's
fund. As for the lighter in the Loaded Goat episode, I always just
I noticed this first in the episode about Opie and the bully...Looks like you

I've noticed in the class reunion episode the banner reads Class of 1945.
