Has there been more progress on your new custom Service bound to the NEW_LOOP_PACKET event? It would be great to have even a partially-functioning beta-version as a stop-gap solution. Zambretti forecast data doesn't seem important, because those forecasts are so poor compared to forecasts

Hi Gary, That sounds like a perfect solution. I did have Steel Series running since 2013-ish, when the first incarnations with weewx got going and it has worked well ever since on my WS2300 (albeit with 1 minute update). I'm not too bothered about the wind rose, although it would be nice ;-) I

Nigel, I think a more elegant solution is to create a custom Service, bound to NEW_LOOP_PACKET event, that creates the JSON file used by the SteelSeries gauges after every loop packet arrives. I wrote such a service a couple of years back to produce customclientraw.txt on every x'th loop
